Bluebells, Aconites and Fritillaria

Bluebells are perhaps one of the easiest bulbs to grow and naturalise, sun or shade. In any soil plant 8cm deep in smal lgroups. Flowering April/May. The English Bluebell is now a protected species and we guarantee that our bulbs are only supplied from our genuinely cultivated resources.

Aconites are one of thefirst blooms to appear inJanuary/ February, shade isagain preferred and mostsoil types are suitable,however Aconites dislikebeing in a waterloggedarea. Shallow planting ofonly 4cm again in groups,and be aware the Aconitesdislike any type of feed.

Fritillaria are a particularly attractive andvery popular bulb, famous forits elegant hanging bell typeflower. Once established allwill seed and spread quiterapidly. Meleagris isparticularly suitable for lawnand meadow areas, whilstMichailovskyii is ideal for arockery area.The bulbs flower from Apriland please note that asthese are lifted whilst ingrowth, it is normal for thebulb to lose its outer shell.A new one is formed oncethe leaves begin to die back.
